Some other July stuff

Here are some of the things that kept us busy this July...

One of the nice things about Jeff's job is that they have summer pool parties for the families.  This is something Alice really looks forward too, and I think Eleanor also enjoyed it this year.  Here are a few shots of the kids enjoying a little fun in the sun at one of the parties...

My little water baby

This was El's first time ever in a big swimming pool.  She seemed to have mixed opinions about the water, but did enjoy a little time in her baby float.

The girls also got invited to a birthday party.  While we were there, all of the kids dressed up in costumes and it was really adorable.  These are a couple of my favorite pictures taken at the party.

Alice and her friend Katie doing a little fairy "sit and spin" together

All of the party-goers sporting their best fairy/princess/superhero attire

This is just one of my favorite pictures from taken this month of Eleanor asleep on Jeff.  Alice was never a fall-asleep-on-you kind of baby, so we are really enjoying this about El.  It is nice to get a few good snuggles in with a sleeping baby, not to mention, totally adorable.  And oh yeah, Jeff shaved his head again!

Alice never hesitates to let you know that her favorite food is pancakes, and almost always requests them when her dad makes Sunday breakfast.  One special Sunday morning, she put on her apron and became his little kitchen "helper".

Our little Eleanor isn't so little anymore.  This month she started crawling and clapping, and hit the nine month milestone.  Where has the time gone?

One evening, we got the girls all dressed up to go out to dinner with some family and I just had to take a couple of pictures of them all gussied up!

And one last shot of Eleanor after getting a good scrub down from her daddy.  That is one thing that is certainly true about July, we spend so much time outdoors that the girls are always needing a good bath, and they have so much tub fun with their dad!

Fourth of July Fun

We had a very busy July 4th this year, and it was so much fun!  Here are some pictures from our activities that day.

We headed to the parade in Canyon, where Alice collected candy like a pro.  We should have enough to last us until Halloween...

Later that afternoon, we got Alice's bike decorated for the kids bike parade.  She was so excited to be able to ride her own bike this year, and it was about the cutest thing I have ever seen.  Here she is practicing on the back patio.

Here are a few shots from the actual parade.  It is actually a photo contest for the newspaper too, and this year our girls won!  They scored some pool passes, free dinner at Mr. Gattis Pizza, and ride passes to wonderland.  They were the cutest little patriots ever...no seriously, they were.

We are so lucky to live where we can see the big fireworks show from our backyard.  Alice was really pumped to stay up past her bedtime for the festivities.  Here she is clad in her jammies with a glow wand so excited that she can't sit still, and there was still about an hour to wait!

The next day we had family dinner at Nana and Pops, and Alice and Kendall had some serious fun in the wading pool.

A few things from June 2013

I have been back at work for the summer teaching art camps and have not had any time to invest in this blog.  Here are some pictures that tell the story about what we were up to during the month of June...

Most months, we go to the First Friday Art Walk at sunset center to check out what local artists are doing and enjoy a few snacks.  They also have a few art activities for the kids, and Alice always looks forward to going.  This is a picture one of the newspaper photographers took of our whole family while we were there.

Alice is getting ready for the roller derby with her new skates.  She mostly just walks in them, but it is super cute to watch her practice.  (I don't know why she never wants to wear clothes in the backyard.  We are hoping it is just a phase...)

We had some friends over and the girls dressed up like their favorite princesses.  They Even let Eleanor wear a costume!

Later that night Alice came up with this outfit...

We celebrated Father's Day by playing games in the backyard and taking Daddy out to breakfast.  These girls love their Dad!

I think this was Alice trying to tell us it is time to fill up her pool!

A cute picture of the girls together.  They play together more and more every day!

In mid-June, Mimi came to stay with the girls and Jeff and I headed to salt Lake City for his leadership conference.  It was hard for me to leave Eleanor for the first time, but it was awesome to get a little alone time with the hubby, even if it was a work trip!

Salt Lake is a really beautiful place!

All gussied up for the formal awards dinner the last night we were there.  I think we clean up pretty nice ;)

Eleanor started cutting her first 2 teeth and has been trying hard to get into crawling position.  It is such a cliché, but she is growing like a weed!

She turned 8 months old on June 25th!

At the end of the month we went to the lineman's rodeo.  Here are a few shots of Alice enjoying the kids activities.  Her favorite part was the train ride. For me it was the most uncomfortable 2X4-in-a-barrel seat I have ever ridden on.  I guess I am getting old, because it took me 2 days to get over it!

We went to the Starlight Theater on a Tuesday evening when it wasn't too hot.  It is a great place to have a picnic and listen to live music.

Jeff took Alice to her first minor league baseball game.  She wasn't too thrilled about the noise or the actual game, but she loved the popcorn, ice cream, and music!

This is Alice's signature look lately.  A weird costume and this weirder face she makes for photos.  Thought I had better close out the month with this photo so I can prove it to her later ;)
