In early March, Jeff's childhood friend, Matt Stapp, came to visit us in Denver. We had a fantastic time, and it was really great to see one of our Texas friends. The kids had a great time listening to him play guitar, and Jeff and I found it to be a wonderful escape from daily life and an opportunity to check out some of the local "grown-up" hot spots. ;-)
We had some fun checking out some local brew pubs. Here we are at Rock Bottom Brewery.
Later we stopped by the The Cheeky Monk and the boys tried some Belgian beer.
We also had not yet gone downtown and explored the 16th Street Mall, so this was our excuse to do it. Doing it on a Sunday morning turned out perfect. We got to check it out and avoid the crowds; double win!
Alice really made this balloon artist work :-)
El enjoyed the ride from above
Matt doesn't even get a break from little girls when he is on vacation!
Matt knows all about Peppa Pig ;-) We are really big fans around here right now. Nothing like a British pig to make little girls happy! Matt shared an episode with our girls that his own girls love while we waited for lunch.
We went up to Nederland to enjoy the carousel. Even grown men enjoy a good carousel ride!
We took Matt to dinner at Beau Jo's pizza in Boulder where Alice found another balloon artist who twisted up the perfect unicorn to ride.
It was so nice to get a visit from such a good friend, and a little piece of our Texas home. Hope to see you again soon, Matt!
