Summer 2014 Part II "Colorado"

So we made it to Colorado folks, and I have simply been way too busy trying to get the family settled in to blog!  (I am starting to feel like a broken record.)  Here are a few of the highlights from the second half of our summer.

Daddy with his girls on the carousel outside of the Denver Aquarium.  We tried to treat the week we were "displaced" as a vacation for the girls, and they really loved everything we did at this place.  Eleanor had never been before, and she has a thing for fish right now, so she was particularly mesmerized.

This "Little Miss Hollywood"  was tuckered out at the end of the day!

Here is a quick family pic we took before we headed out to the Annual Peach Festival in Louisville, (which was actually really fun despite the way it may sound!)

All dolled up in matching attire before we went out to explore our new city.  I figured this way I was less likely to lose them ;-)

We are all unpacked and just waiting for some visitors!

We took a trip one evening up into the mountains to Nederland to check out "The Carousel of Happiness" that we had read about, and it was really fantastic.  The carousel is restored from 1910 and all animals have been hand-carved.  It was also really cool to realize we could take a trip to the mountains and be there in half an hour!

Headed out for a fun trip to IKEA.  Love it.

Alice is about the cutest four-year-old I have ever seen.  I know I am biased, but still!  I knew she would, but she is adjusting well and loving it up here.  You can hardly wipe the smile off of this kid's face.

Alice and Eleanor love to play in the front yard at our new house, which is something they have never been able to do before.  Our new street is very quiet and lined with lots of children.  The girls are loving every minute of it!

We also took a trip to the Butterfly Pavilion  with my friend and her daughter who live in Denver.  Alice thought this was the coolest place she had ever seen.

Waiting very patiently for the butterfly to land.  (It never did.)  She even wanted to wear her flower shirt so the butterflies would be attracted to her! ;-)

Eleanor likes bugs too.

Between home renovations and child wrangling, I can hardly believe we are heading into fall!
