As summer winds down, we are trying to soak up every last bit of Colorado summer. I am convinced there is no better place to be in August and September. January, on the other hand, we will just have to wait and see about!
We helped shut the neighborhood pool down right!
Alice was kind enough to give Eleanor an eye exam, and then helped her pick out just the right pair of frames.
We got new back-to-school haircuts!
We went over to Lafayette for the Labor Day Parade. The girls really enjoyed it. Then again, who doesn't love a good parade? We are adjusting to Denver life quite nicely :-)
Alice let me know that she no longer needs to go to Pre-K because she has decided to be a crossing guard. She spends many afternoons standing out next to our Caution Children sign and pretends to direct traffic we don't have. I think we are going to keep her in school for now...!
We went to Thornton Havenfest. The girls got some nice face painting done, and Alice the Brave got harnessed up to try the super trampoline.
Alice got to ride a "real" unicorn at the Anythink Library. She swore he sprayed magic the whole time, and she made me take many pictures so she could show her friends. All I could think was, sure smells like a bunch of...unicorns!
We made an awesome trip back home to Amarillo, Texas to see family and friends. It was a great trip, which explains why I don't have any pictures. Too busy enjoying myself I guess! There really isn't anything as cool as a trip to a hotel pool anyway!
We spent a day (we had no idea it would take a day, next time we will pack food and sunscreen!) at Miller Farms. They have a great pumpkin patch, activities for kiddos, and a large farm where you can harvest your own vegetables. A neat experience for sure.
You can take home as many pumpkins as you can fit in your wagon, so we stacked 'em tall!
Eleanor didn't quite make it through the hayride.
This was our haul after the trip to Miller Farms. I spent days (literally days) blanching vegetables, but we will have fresh veggies all winter long!
