Holi-daze 2014

Whew!  I certainly am late with this post.  We have been keeping so busy that I forgot that I never posted any Christmas pictures.  This was our first Christmas not spent in Amarillo with family and friends, so we decided to keep it simple and start some of our own family traditions.  It was a quiet holiday, but also nice, because we didn't have to rush around (or even get dressed!).  The kids were free to enjoy their holiday loot all day long.  Here are some of the highlights from this year:

Eleanor prepared for the big holiday by just being cute.  I know I have to treasure every moment I have during the holidays with these little girls of mine, because there just isn't Christmas magic quite like the magic of having little kids around to enjoy it.  The anticipation of Christmas morning with was just as fun as the main even this year, complete with cookie baking, tree-decoration (and un-decorating, and redecorating...), reindeer feeding, Christmas light-looking, etc.

I just couldn't resist this one.  I found Eleanor in her chair reading a book to the bear she got from Nana.  She named her bear "Applebee", because we had a small birthday dinner for her at Applebee's when Nana visited us a month earlier, and Eleanor was THRILLED when the wait staff sang "Happy Birthday" to her.  Now she thinks Applebee's is the happiest place on earth. ;-)   If only you could bottle this stuff...

Here are our little reindeer ready to head out to see Christmas lights

Christmas Eve, and they couldn't stand the anticipation.  We started a tradition this year in which the girls get new jammies, a movie, and some popcorn to enjoy Christmas Eve, and we spent the evening watching "The Wizard of Oz" together.

And finally, Christmas morning arrived!

Then we headed outside to enjoy their new car!

Eleanor had as much fun "wearing" the stockings later in the day as anything else.

A few days later, Nana and Pops brought Kaizer to visit for New Year's.  Here was the official 2015 Greeting Crew, although the little people still had to go to bed at 8:30 ;-)
